Parkhurst Accounts Continue to Grow

In conjunction with MEDRAD’s move to its brand new Global Center in Warrendale, PA, Parkhurst is proud to begin service for this worldwide market leading manufacturer and distributor of high tech medical devices that enable or enhance diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures for computed tomography, magnetic resonance, and cardiovascular applications.

One of the key criteria evaluated in this decision was “Health and Wellness.”  Factors considered were awareness, education, incentives, and a healthy choice menu. Parkhurst offers their Whole Body Cuisine® Program that includes a line of nutritionally balanced dishes that balance fat, calories and sodium, but still create naturally nourishing and fabulous tasting meals. Each item follows recommended nutritional guidelines without sacrificing rich taste.

In fact, MEDRAD is presently instituting a company-wide wellness program for health promotion and disease management.  MEDRAD envisions that a critical component of this program’s success will entail further collaboration with Parkhurst Dining Services.

MEDRAD also likes that Parkhurst promotes a FarmSource® Program ensuring that a certain percent of food is purchased from local farmers, growers' cooperatives, and producers.  This program results in wholesome, locally produced foods that support and strengthen the local agricultural community.

“Although most food service groups must tout health and wellness, Parkhurst appeared to have best.  The Parkhurst model provides for an on-site Executive Chef skilled in nutrition, quality, freshness, taste, portions, cost, etc. that greatly appealed to MEDRAD.”

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP) has teamed up with Parkhurst Dining Services to provide dining services and catering for the campus community.  In addition to renovating three on-campus eating spaces, Parkhurst is also providing new meal plan choices.

Throughout the summer, Parkhurst has been renovating the main dining facility in Wilson Hall. Once completed, the renovations will add food concepts stations, such as Mongo Bongos, an an Asian stir-fry brand that features shrimp, chicken, pork or vegetables; and Bravisimo®, cooked-to-order fajitas, stir-fries, pasta, grains, and rice dishes from around the world; and Pepperazzi®, for a wood-fired brick oven fare.

In addition, Parkhurst will open a new coffee bar in the McNeil Science and Technology Center and give Whitecar Hall’s Cappuccinos food stand a face lift that will include a smoothie bar, “We Proudly Brew” coffee program and an expanded menu offering freshly made “on-the-go” breakfast and lunch selections.

“We are excited about the positive changes in the campus dining experience that Parkhurst will bring to USP.  Our goal is to provide our students, faculty, and staff with the finest quality food. When people visit one of the campus locations, they should walk away with a memorable experience.”

Parkhurst was selected to provide dining services at Gwynedd-Mercy College of Gwynedd Valley, PA, because of its commitment to using high-quality ingredients in their preparation of meals.  Students, faculty and staff will enjoy visiting several unique dining venues, including two new cafes.

The newly renovated main dining room will feature many Parkhurst-developed concepts such as the Parkside Diner, home-style and ethnic-style foods prepared with traditional ingredients; and Showcase Salads®, fresh, no pre-cut purchased produce, only organic and locally grown fruits and vegetables with healthy toppings and home-made dressings.

Formerly a grab-and-go venue, The Saint Bernard Grill will provide sit-down or to-go service featuring the Sequoia Grill®, hot off the grill items including fresh, never frozen burgers, East Street Deli™, and Starbucks® “We Proudly Brew” coffee program.

The preparation of farm-fresh foods is a Parkhurst hallmark.  Foods are procured through Parkhurst-developed FarmSource®, a program that initiates partnerships with some of the finest farmers in the communities we service to obtain high quality, farm-fresh foods for our guests, while we support local agriculture.

“With the selection of Parkhurst, we have improved upon existing dining services and added two new cafes – the Pepperazzi ® and Griffin Grounds - that will attract more students by offering additional places for them to gather and enjoy the Gold Standards of meal delivery for which Parkhurst is known.”
