Culinary Institute Alumni Key Players in Pittsburgh Restaurant, Hospitality Scene

Pittsburgh is home to more than 40 alumni of the Culinary Institute of America, including Parkhurst Dining Executive Chef Tim Fetter, CIA class of ’01.

The executive chef for Parkhurst at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Chef Tim is a native Pittsburgher, who was influenced by an uncle who graduated from CIA in the 1980s. Chef Tim's uncle convinced him that the CIA was the best place because of the facilities, the name and the faculty, citing the double-digit number of certified master chefs on staff.

Chef Tim was the 2012 recipient of the “Chef of the Year”, the most prestigious award a culinary professional can receive from The American Culinary Federation (ACF), Inc., Laurel Highlands Chapter (Youngwood, PA).
