Parkhurst Debuts Bada Basil, Healthy Italian-Inspired Street Food

Parkhurst Dining is proud to announce the launch of Bada Basil, featuring healthy Italian-inspired, made-to-order wraps and pasta bowls. Bada Basil emulates Italian street food, where guests can choose from chef-featured selections or create their own meal enhanced with a robust flavor of fresh basil, of course!

Signature menu items incorporate fresh ingredients including a hand-held basil chicken wrap with tender grilled herb chicken, seasoned pasta, mushrooms, sweet basil, and house-made creamy Parmesan sauce. Or select the Prima Bada Bowl, fresh seasonal vegetables, seasoned pasta, Parmesan cheese, and house-made basil pesto sauce!

With sales exceeding expectations by 6.5% at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA, Bada Basil is a result of students’ desire for more variety, customization and fast service for dine in or on-the-go!

According to Vivian Okwara, a Bucknell undergraduate student, “Being able to customize my meal is the sole reason why I choose to get my food from Bada Basil daily. I consider Bada Basil a very healthy choice, plus I am able to get my food relatively quickly. I like the size of the bowl and the fact that the price matches the quality and quantity of food.”

Guests can also create their own meal where they can choose from a wrap or pasta bowl and select meat or veggies such as broccoli, summer squash, zucchini, roasted red peppers, eggplant, banana peppers, spinach, mixed greens, arugula, fresh and sundried tomatoes. Sauces include Fra Diavolo, garlic aioli, rose, blush and tomato sauce, meat and vegetable ragu, balsamic vinaigrette and Greek olive oil dressing.

"What I like best about Bada Basil is creating my own pasta. There are so many different selections everyday and it is so good,” said Savannah Hoche, a Robert Morris University (Moon Township, PA) student.

Almond biscotti and pepperoni biscotti bites served with a side of Nutella round out your visit to Bada Basil! Wash it down with our signature drink, the Raspberry Basil Lemonade, a refreshing twist to traditional lemonade!
