Parkhurst at Saint Francis University Presented Governor's Award

Parkhurst Dining, the dining services partner of Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA, was selected as the recipient of the Annual Governors Award for hiring, retaining and advancing the careers of individuals who are in need of work skills support.. The selection committee ranked Parkhurst at Saint Francis as among the highest of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation’s top nominations considered for this year’s award.

The commitment that Parkhurst provides in hiring opportunities for individuals like Priscilla Kalwasinski, was a major factor in the selection process.

According to Leo Cavanaugh, general manager of dining services for Parkhurst at Saint Francis University, “Priscilla began her career in 2012 as a dining room attendant, and soon demonstrated her abilities to assist us in catering functions. In fact, during a recent event, Priscilla filled in for the grill cook where she served close to 2,000 people, keeping up for the demand for burgers and hotdogs! Since then, Priscilla was promoted to second shift grill cook, managing the grill and making sure our guests are served fresh, perfectly prepared menu items.”

This prestigious award will be presented during the 2015 Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association Conference on May 6th during a ceremonial luncheon at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey, PA.
