Parkhurst Hosts March Madness "In the Kitchen" at Philadelphia University

PHILADELPHIA, PA, March 5, 2010– Philadelphia University students will compete in March Madness – in the kitchen that is -- cooking alongside Parkhurst Dining Services executive chefs as they compete for a spot on the menu.

According to Bill Zimnoch, Parkhurst general manager of dining services, the March Madness event encourages students to submit their own recipes, including ingredients and preparation directions.  “During the first round, the university community votes for eight recipes to advance to the ‘Quarter Finals.’”  Parkhurst chefs will prepare the eight recipes and serve to students where they will vote on the recipes that advance to the ‘Final Four.’

During the unveiling of the last two recipes chosen during the ‘FINAL ROUND’ on March 31, students who submitted the final two will prepare and serve samples of their own recipes for the campus community to enjoy in Ravenhill Dining Hall and the Common Thread.  The grand prize winner will receive a gift card to the university book store, and a featured spot on the menu!
